Ive done a bit of searching but cannot find a answer to my question. The blower motor in my 95 2500 is acting up. It runs on all speeds but it seems to slow down for a while and then speed up and slow down again. It is like it gets hot and slows down cools off a litte and spees up again. Im sure that it is just plain wore out and the original. I guess for peice of mind before I get a new one for it im just asking for opinions just to make myself feel better.

Have you inspected the fan speed switch connector on the heater control panel? Could be melted like mine and so many others from too much med-2 speed use. Also check the purple wire connector at the blower, might also be melted on you.

More than likely it does need a blower motor. Interesting that all the fan speeds work but the motor slowing does build up heat in the blower motor resistor and likely in the switch as @Dimebag mentioned. His suggestion of inspecting those connections is a good one but replacing the motor will likely be the answer. I suggest going for an OEM rather than aftermarket replacement as some of the aftermarket replacements do not have a good reputation. Since it is somewhat of PITA to replace the motor you likely only want to do it once. Good luck and please come back to the thread (bookmark in browser) and update with what you ended up doing.

I know the conector at the blower is ok. I had the motor out a couple weeks ago to make sure everything was clean so I wouldn't have any air flow restrictions. I didn't think about checking the controller. When i get a chance I will look at that.

Well I got the motor replaced and checked the connections. found no issues with the wiring and the new motor doesn't speed up and slow down like the old one did. Now I have a air flow problem. The motor sounds like it's going 100 mph but what comes out of the vent could be better. It will barely make a piece of paper move a few inches away from the vent. I clean the evap out as best possible when I had the motor out. Looks like im going to be pulling the dash apart and look for a restriction or something causing a loss in velocity.

Likely the stickiness in the fan speed selector switch. No fix needed. Just make sure it has the proper detent between Med-HI and Full-HI.
