Super clean, and my favorite color. :waytogo:
Stumpy--Thanks for the post. I definitely understand you. For me it was a red Chevy or no Chevy! That victory red looks so good on this generation of Chevy trucks. I rode the truck hard on occasion but never put her up wet. I always cleaned her up well after a weekend of hunting and she was always kept indoors. That's the key.

Welcome to the forum, nice truck. I put my 97 ECSB in the local car shows all the time. Yours should get a lot of attention like mine does.
Kennythewelder--thank you Kenny, nice to be a part of the forum. I haven't put her in a car/truck show just yet but plan to do so as soon as this COVID dies down. I have had quite a few thumbs up as well as a few offers to take her off my hand but no reasonable amount of money would be worth letting her go after owning her for 23 years. I am looking forward to hitting the 25 year mark so I can put an antique tag on her.

Just watched the video, your truck looks like it just rolled off of the assembly line. I did want to see the interior though. as clean as mine is, you can tell I drive it. Yours looks dealer new. Very nice truck.
Kennythewelder--yes, the body shop I work with was really impressed with the restoration I performed and they said that was as close to factory as they have seen. I can tell you this for sure, the underside of this truck as well as the interior look just as good and as clean as the outside. Don't get wrong--she still has her little nuisances here and there that I still need to address but overall, very clean and everything works just like off the show-room floor. I'll include a video and photos of the interior when I do my restoration thread. By the way, I love your white ECSB C1500. That looks like a very clean truck also. It definitely stands out with black hood stripes--phenomenal!!

98chevy2500SS--Yes, I love the chrome brush guard and sidesteps. A lot of the younger crowd don't like that but the old-school part of me loves the chrome! I've had the brush guard on it for over 15 years and the this is my second set of side steps after I sold the first pair to one of my friends years ago.
I love the brush guard id really like to find one for mine in chrome i have the chrome trim on my rockers and people always tell me i should get rid of it but i like it way to much to do that but anyway beautiful truck, love it!!

Thanks. Mine was redone in 2013. Still looks as good today as it did then. I am guessing you clicked on my avatar and looked through my pics on my albums page under my 97. I have a lot of pics there. If not, then you should.

I am a younger guy and love the chrome too lol. My grandpa is a trucker and a farmer, so I grew up around chrome. My cousins sometimes make fun of me for liking chrome. They are into blacking out vehicles, bedliner everywhere, etc. Just can't into blacking things out.

I would keep them, I think they look great. :waytogo:

I love chrome too people keep telling me to put black wheels on it which i do think they’d look great but i wanna keep it classic with all of the chrome and bullet holes but my plans are to repaint the truck snow pearl white and put the chrome trim back on and put some new bullet holes on it and I’ve also been contemplating on a ranch hand full bumper with a brush guard but i want a chrome brush guard

1)beautiful truck, you've done a very good job as the original 'caretaker'. 2)as for the brush guard, call me old school as I like that style as opposed to the newer bull bars everyone seems to put on. As for the chrome, I do prefer the black, but only cause I can easily touch it up when I scrape it up, lol.

Hello everyone!! Here is "Ole Red." I have owned her since I bought her brand new back in Aug 1997 in Oklahoma City, OK. She was my dream truck back in college in the early 1990's. She is a registered 1998 Chevy Truck "Legend" with 115,000 miles on her and has served me well pulling my boats, hauling general items and getting me to my favorite hunting locations over the last 23 years. Recently, I noticed she started getting a lot of surface rust on the frame and I accomplished a complete 7-month cosmetic restoration on her in 2019. She is now one of the finest original GMT400 Z-71 Regular Cab Silverado trucks in the country and is still used to haul and pull the boat, but only on sunny days. I will also be entering her into the occasional car and truck show where I am confident she will win some awards. Stay tuned as we get closer to the summer months. I will be posting multiple videos and slide presentations of the restoration process. For now, here is a link to a you-tube "Teaser" video showing her post-restoration as well as a few photos. Thanks--Dave

Very nice looking truck! What dealership did you get yours at? I bought mine a knipplemier in Blanchard back in June of 97. Been the best vehicle I’ve ever owned. Sadly I never had the means to keep mine indoors and it did get hit by one of our many tornados. It was a total after the damage done but I opted to keep it anyway cause she never let me down. I pulled my cab and bed off and cleaned up my frame as well. You can pull the cab off in your garage with a little ingunity. Not easy but you can. Haha. I had 246,000 miles on it before I decided to put a transplant in her. Motor was still running good but she had more leaks than the titantic. My trucks been with me over half my life and she’ll be with me till the day I take my last breath.

Outstanding! And chrome... YES. I simply do not understand the black wheel and matte paint trends at all. Looks dirty to me, I'm only (?) in my mid 40's but love the classic looks of shiny mirror chrome and glossy paint and that way they pop on a sunny day. Can't beat it!

BonetockK1500--I love your name!! Thank you for the post. I have upwards near 100 photos and about 12 videos of the restoration. I am trying to figure out how to post them.

Go with Youtube and make a video series... Part 1, Part 2, etc. for however many it takes to cover the restoration. Depending on how raw your current video is, it might take some editing but 15-20 minute segments with your voiceovers added in (unless you already did that) would be awesome. I bet you'd pick up some fans in the classic truck crowd once the videos gets shared. For any Demolition Ranch fans, that guy's side channel Off The Ranch has great series-type videos within the channel. One is "Restoring an Abandoned Mansion" and "Rebuilding a Destroyed ZR1" in the automotive realm. Good stuff.

Nice pickup! Very cool to be the original owner.
Your pickup is also my dream configuration from high school. White on blue interior would have been my pick, had I ordered it...and a 5 speed.

I've got the white on blue in my Suburban, haha. Always thought blue leather interior was an odd choice... problem now is blue replacement parts are nearly impossible to find. My driver's seat isn't ripped through anywhere, but has its rough spots and I'd love to be able to find/replace it someday (for a decent price).
