I'm sure the Texas winters are much more pleasant than here. We can see temperatures in the negatives at times and the DOT salts the crap out of our roads when the weather is bad.

The car is a dark charcoal gray. The factory color was a lighter silver, you can still see it in the door jambs.
Thanks! I didn't quite think it was black, doesn't look dark enough. My car was silver with black interior and vinyl top. It was a 70 with a 72 front clip, I bought it as a barely running car and never really got it sorted out. Wish I'd been able to get it done and been able to keep it; maybe it would have looked like yours. I've always liked the early ones, they're pretty and not so common

We call 'em "Suburban-colored Suburbans" :D

Richard
That's a good one! When my family first got the other Burb I had to memorize the license plate very quickly because there were so many pickups/Tahoes/Yukons/Suburbans in the big grocery store parking lots. I'd leave work and go to the wrong truck! I didn't like the color to begin with but it's grown on me by now. It's almost invisible in shadows and looks about the same clean or dirty. And since there's still a bunch of them out there, it's possible to be semi anonymous when you want to be.

I like the fact that my truck stands out lol. You never see a light blue anything anymore, it's kinda sad when you think about it.

I learned how to drive and bought my first truck (the 1999 Blazer) in Anchorage, AK... Save for my 03 Blazer (which is the only one I bought here in Texas), all my trucks have been 4x4 lol.

That's a clean lookin truck! I drive through on I20 about once every 4 weeks or so.. Live in Longview, work in Kermit.
My brother was going to Letourneau for a while. Still is, but switched to online even before this covid19 crap.

Yes so many vehicles are some combination of gray and beige. Not everyone wants to be anonymous all the time, but occasionally it's good. If I had a Challenger it would be the light blue or the plum crazy, but that's cause I like purple.

Hope all of the south Texas members and their families and trucks are okay, after Hurricane Hanna came through the area. Here in Houston we just got some more rain, no big deal. But y'all got more than that, lots of rain and flooding and winds. Hang in there, I think that this is gonna be a busy year in the Gulf......
