Exhaust is on! Sounds so much better now. I left the mufflers i had on and just removed the turndowns. Luckily found a pair of 3" tailpipe online for a reasonable price, installation went smooth. If i find a set of tips I like ill put them on, not sure if i want to do chrome or black.

Haven't really updated in a while, not much new to report, except I just hit 200k miles! 2 months ago I took it on a nearly 900 mile road trip, did great, and actually averaged 10.5mpg! Recently had to replace the starter, and also managed to shear the pulley shaft off of the power steering pump while having a little fun with it. I have never had to drive something so difficult without power steering or brakes (because hydroboost). At least its fixed now.

Let me guess, donuts in a wet field, steering went to full lock and you hit the brakes... then released? That'll send the EVO solenoid to full shut pos. and snap the shaft.

I know this because I did the same thing the day before my wedding. I was going to get the truck muddy and have my buddy drive it there to shock the wife and it be our getaway car (I was also going to drive it to the main drag downtown and leave some 11's in the middle of the road).

But yeah, evo killed that dream. Just unplug the connector to the solenoid. No more risk after that cause it'll be full open all the time.

Finally going to be paying a little attention to this guy pretty soon. Tired of the 3.73s with the oversize tires when towing, so I bought 4.56 gears. Since the gov-bomb is dying I also decided to buy a spool for the rear.

Got the ring on the spool and put the bearings on what I could for now, will probably do the swap next week at work while we're slow. I found a yard a little ways away that has a 4.56 front diff so i think ill just swap the whole thing to keep cost down.

I'm not sure that I ever saw what it is you tow? How big are the tires again?
