Right outa the shop, I felt the vibe start at about 30mph & with speed, it only got worse.
Once I got it dialed in though, it's good to over 110. (Speed limiter is removed)
Good shocks were an improvement, too. Truck still had the originals up until it was lowered.
+ a rear sway bar helped.
+ some urethane bushings.
+ 40mm wider tires.
I can't leave things well enough alone. Lol!

Good...well, good for me. No vibes from the rear at any speed up to 65. Truck feels way more solid. Still need to determine what is going on with the parking brake...but more and more I suspect the front cable is broken or not connected. Messed with it some tonight...discovered that the release cable is no longer connected to the pedal as well. Saturday I will figure it out...

And you sound as bad as me...except I did all that from the start. Hopefully I dodged the pinion angle shim bullet. But I did new leaf springs, shackles, hangers, Belltech Street Perf shocks & sway bar, and 275/60-15s on old school truck rally wheels. Obviously I don't know when to draw a line...

The entire truck was pretty much original before I lowered it...all the way down to the shocks as well. The OEM dampers were completely dead...

Did you use energy suspension bushings. Iv

Looks good, man. It was wise to replace the leaf springs. Lotta people get used to old raggedy leafs and don't realize how new ones make a huge difference.

Thanks! Completion of a vision... I've owned the truck for almost 15 years. I always wanted to do it this way. And it's finally done...err...almost done.

I really had little choice on the leafs. The only rusty parts on the whole truck. Plus the OEM rubber bushings were completely wasted.

I've had mine for almost ten, so I know what you mean. I replaced my flip kit and leaf springs for a set of hotchkis leaf springs and love them. I'm getting ready to replace my squeaky cab bushings too.

Yes. On my '97 I've just done the leaf spring & the fr/rr sway bar bushings.
My '98 has a whole body/suspension kit.
Supposedly, the red ones are prone to squeek. The '98's are red & don't squeek. '97 is done with black & they do. My luck.
Urethane bushings require synthetic grease.

Mine was an original paint, low-mile one-owner dealership-maintained truck.
I spent more than the purchase price of the truck on mods within a week of buying it. Not because it needed it, but...well...just 'because'!
It's a disease. I had to.

Mine with the 275/60-15's. I like the look of that size on these trucks.
Need tires & they've finally started remaking my fav.'s in a 275/60-15, so it will probably end up with those, after I wear out the 17's on it now.

Mine is similar...my truck is a 2-owner (me...and my FIL before me) original paint (what's left of it) truck. It was originally a courtesy vehicle for the 1992 Buick Open here in ATL. Even now it only has 133K at 28 years old. My FIL retired from the Doraville GM plant in the parts hub...the truck never saw anything that wasn't AC Delco or OEM supplier.

Your truck...especially that picture of your truck...has served as my inspiration for this build. I hope you see imitation as sincere flattery...I just love the entire look of it. I have the same (or similar) mirrors sitting in my garage waiting for nice day to put them on the truck. Think of my truck as your truck's older, darker, more sinister brother...:p

I have developed a rather annoying squeak. Seems to be from the cab bushings. Being 20+ y/o, doesn't surprise me. I will look at the red ones and grease the hell of them when installing.

This reminds me of my first truck so much. It was a 97 with that same color. It's strange that the color was used only one year, because I feel it was one of, if not the best color that gm did these trucks in. When it was clean, it looked so dang good.

The stance of that looks like the stance of my truck before I lowered it...except the nose was lower and the butt was higher on mine...[emoji21]
