To the untrained EBay eye it’s almost too good to be true...but look closely:
1) the side mirrors are not only not stock, they aren’t even correct for this truck, looks like firebird or trailblazer mirrors or something ?
2) the truck has definitely been repainted and I don’t think that’s even a GM blue in 97
3) the 1500 door badges are too high
4) the 4x4 decals are too close to the tail lights
5) the dent in the rear bumper has a nice coat of fresh black paint
6) the fan shroud under the hood has a strange copper overspray visible, which is oddly the same copper overspray you’ll see on the wheel picture
7) the wheel picture shows a pretty obvious black and silver rattle can job on the factory steel rally wheels, with same strange copper overspray that’s on the fan shroud, and a lug cap is missing
8) the interior carpet wrinkles are obvious new aftermarket carpet with a pretty poor fit
9) and most importantly..the carfax is from Pennsylvania, and after 23 years in PA there isn’t a single photo of the undercarriage and frame
my spidy sense tells me this was a 63k mile work truck that some body shop guy was able to pick up for $1,500, and by putting in $1,500 of his own parts and labor he thought he could dupe some schmo on EBay out of $9,000
that’s just my opinion...and I’d enjoy hearing other thoughts if you wish
I don’t have any problem with someone partially restoring a truck and trying to resell it to make a buck, but I do have a problem with someone posting a partially restored truck and advertising it as something “clean” without mentioning the restoration efforts that they’ve put into it and completely ignoring the condition of the frame and undercarriage of a Pennsylvania truck
I guess this one just struck me wrong. Hope you enjoy the rant, or tell me why I’m out of line here
