Hi guys I need some help tracking down a grinding/rattling noise on my truck...it’s a 95 z71 with the tbi 350,before I say anything let me just go ahead and say what I’ve replaced to try and eliminate this noise,I’ve replaced the belt tensior and idler pulley replaced 2 weeks ago, water pump was replaced about 8 months ago ac compressor was replaced about 4-5 months ago.My truck has had this noise since a few months after I bought it it just randomly happens when your driving and mainly when you step on the gas and the noise flutuctuates with the gas pedal so if I tap the gas the noise corresponds with it...I’m thinking it’s gotta be one of the engine accessories...alternator ect..it sounds like a pulley with bearings that are toast, the noise don’t affect the truck running it runs great and I honestly am baffled at what it may be,maybe power steering pump bearings?the pump does whine a little bit,if you listen closely in the video you can hear the noise and I know my tires are loud any help is appreciated

You could try removing the serpentine belt and then starting the engine trying to duplicate the RPM range in which the noise is worst. If there's no noise at all, you can start looking at accessories. Spin them by hand (engine off) and if they feel rough and/or there is play and/or noise, those would be bad. I've seen people use long flat head screw drivers with 1 gallon jugs to find noisy accessories too.

Upload the video to youtube, then link it here.

Does it sound like marbles in a can?
I will work on getting that video uploaded shortly and yes somewhat but I only hear it when the trucks in gear or I guess you could say when the motor is under load

I had a/c pumps sound like that, tensioner pulleys. They are cheap enough to replace.

You say it only happens when in gear or under load, does it make the noise while in park or neutral? If not I would be looking at the driveline. A u-joint on its way out can make a rattling / clunking noise under acceleration. And a bad wheel bearing or rear end component can make all sorts of strange noises.

Hmmm I listened earlier when it was idling and I could faintly hear the noise it’s definitely somewhere on the front of the motor and we can rule out the frontend I just completely rebuilt it new wheel bearings ect..
