It gets rid of the factory single injector and poppets and replaces them with individual injectors. You'll probably have to bump up the fuel pressure if you're running more than 300hp, and the poppets can't handle a pressure increase. Honestly, they can't even handle the stock application. I haven't heard of anyone who didn't have a better running truck after the conversion. Apparently it was a GM warranty update that a few vehicles got, but the parts are available for everyone and well worth it. I did it on my Suburban, and it's an easy upgrade if you already have the intake manifold off.

If I replace the engine with a crate engine, like the ht383e, or build the current engine with heads and camshaft, will I still need these supporting mods?

Also does anyone know how many hours a shop would need to pull and replace an engine? Roughly?

It was actually a factory production part on the GMT800 5.7 Mexico/South American trucks that GM had to put into alot of California trucks/Vans.

At 22.1 lb/hr flow rate per cylinder it is good for close to 400 hp without bumping the pressure.

Does the new spider require the ecu to be changed?

It is within production line tolerance to run without changes. However if you are tuning the PCM anyway. Set the flow rate from the factory 23.1 to 22.1 and change the commanded air/fuel ratio for Stoichiometric to match our 10% Ethanol gas. Value changes from 14.7 to 14.1.

Is this for a 411ecu?
