I’ve got a 1996 2wd extended cab short box with about 70,000miles on it.

I want to make it have a little more power, and can spend around $3,000. Where should I start?

so far I’ve done a basic tune up. Plugs, wires, cap, rotor, all new fluids (except trans), air filter.

Thanks for any advice.

I'd get a Blackbear ecm & have the local muffler shop build a free flowing exhaust with new hi flow cats.

Not even close to working. You would have to change your entire fuel system. Not sure how Canadia is, but many places it won't be close to passing emissions. You could put a turbo on it, that will give you a nice boost (pun intended) in power lol.

I’m looking for something that will give me a bump in power and basically all just bolt on and work.

And please be specific, so I know what parts to order and even from where, If you know.

thanks!

Im not up Vortecs really, but it's still a motor. Cam, full roller rockers, headers, free flow exhaust, cold air intake, good tune, not sure just how much power you'll get, but it should wake it up. A whipple supercharger supposedly 100 horse, not sure on torque. That's with a stock engine, so if motor is built some then would get more out of it I'd think.
