Tri-Y's are the best designed header ever.
Good enough for Carroll Shelby & his GT350's.
They just don't fit well in some vehicles due to clearances.

Agree, They are still really popular in the Mopar world. Schumacher Tri-y's are about the only ones that fit in some applications with torsion bars. Early Darts, B'cuda's. I was surprised because you just don't hear much about them anymore.

Tri-Y headers are very good in street application where stronger low-midrange torque is desirable. I have had a pair on a G20 van and a pair on my Express van.

My Infiniti M56s also came from the factory with shorty tri-y style manifolds.

On the FX50 and M56S Infiniti engineers even went to the effort of pairing the cylinders. The LH bank pairs cylinders 1&3 and 5&7 The RH bank pairs 2&6 and 4&8. As dictated by Nissans odd firing order of the VK series of V8s. The 5.0L version makes 390 hp and the 5.6L 420 hp.
