So I broke the rod on my factory clutch master cylinder and ended up replacing the master and slave with a one piece prebled kit. I also upgraded to a gear reduction starter and the required bolts for it. Put everything back together, clutch pedal feels amazing. Nice and firm. Started truck and immediately it was making a really loud knocking sound. Pushing the clutch in quiets it down by like 95% but it's still there. Put it in first and tried to move and the truck didn't go anywhere. Same with reverse. I know pulling the trans is inevitable but I'd like some opinions or things to look for while I'm in there. Thanks in advance.

Here's a video of the sound:

I would be pulling the starter back off the motor and have a look. Sounds like it might not be disengaged fully and the gears are tapping each other. If the noise wasn't there before the starter swap then that's where I would be looking.

Sorry to bring up an old post but did you ever figure out what it was? I recently replaced my master/slave with a pre-bled all in one kit and noticed a slight rattling sound as well that goes away when the clutch pedal is compressed. I figured it was the throw-out bearing but now I'm curious if it's something else. The new kit i put in has already gone faulty so I'm getting ready to swap it out again but want to make sure I'm not missing something...
