I did some calculating and all in I have spent just over 6,000 for everything including tax title and plates for the Suburban. That is exactly where I was hoping to be with it when I first looked into getting one. I would say that's a really good deal for a family hauler/DD. Its got 10k miles on the rebuilt motor, new front end new brakes front and rear and new tires on it. For now it will just be going to work and back with me until after the baby comes, then it will be going on some longer trips to see family and friends.

Took a break from a long work day and snapped a couple pics of the Burb, I just love the look of the 400's front ends. I like the stance much better now from the day I bought it. The new front end seemed to rejuvenate it and removing the broken plastic on the bottom made quite the difference too.

I know what you mean...

I love the look of the GMT 400's vs pretty much anything else out there from the early 2000's up to now. There's just something classic about them that appeals to me.

Very sharp Sub, by the way. Your headlights seem nice and clear, are they new? I ask because I just replaced the headlights on my 96 Yukon, so kinda notice these things.

:)

Not much new with the burban just driving it to work and back and around town to keep miles off my truck. Next thing I want to look into is the door locks. When I bought it they all worked fine, I then programmed a remote for the locks using the jump method with the OBD port and now only my drivers power lock works with or without the remote. The key fob I don't think is for a Suburban, it was given to me by the P/O who thought they were all just universal. I don't know if this could be the issue or if its a relay? Any advice or someone who may have had this happen. If I buy a Key fob for a suburban and reprogram it using the jump method do you think it will reset all the locks? I am skeptical because when I use the buttons inside on the door they only lock and unlock the driver door as well.

Its not a huge deal right now but down the road I would like to lock it if we have things inside or leave the dog while we run in somewhere. Any advice would be appreciated!

Had a nice weekend off and tried to be productive. Didn't do anything to my vehicles though it was all about the house this weekend. Started off leveling the deck on my mower since I noticed it was cutting super uneven. Turns out it was off almost 2 inches. I think it happened when I ran into our sewer pipe a few weeks ago. Now shes back to level and ready for the rain to stop so we can try it out.

Also fixed our A/C for the last couple of hot days here in WI. Changed out a run capacitor and contactor on it and so far it seems like it is working as it should so I am happy with that!

Sunday we took everyone and my parents to an Orchard to get some Cider donuts and walk around. Took the Suburban got her just a little muddy but she sure did good in the mud, never had to use the 4x4 and it was some pretty slick stuff! Got a nice pic of Our GMT400 Burb and my moms Gmt 800 Yukon Denali in our drive.

Nice truck! I'm on my second GMT400 suburban (first one got totalled by a red light runner). Once l get it cleaned up l will post a few pictures, but it's the DD right now. Last year I did the front brakes (hose clogged, abs sensor caught on fire) and did the upper ball joints as they were very floppy. Worst part of the process was beating the old joints out of the control arms. Now that hopefully my starting problem is licked, it should go back to being the good ol' truck it usually is. Lotta people ask me "why don't you get a newer car? ", cause I can still work on this one!

I have been having some issues with my radio lately. Usually it works ok but once in a while it wont go on at all like it has no power. Then when I am driving or sometimes after turning the truck off and back on it will power on no issues. Today I was driving to work and it suddenly went out but came back on in 5 seconds. I am not a big fan of the aftermarket radio so i am going to take this opportunity to go back to the stock radio I think.

From what I know about aftermarket it should be as easy as unplugging the adapter from the stock connection and then putting in the new one. Now to scour the junkyards for a stock radio at a reasonable price, unless someone here has a stock radio they want to sell? I believe mine should be the one with the cassette player on it because I have the remote CD player in the pocket below.
