I have actually thought of clear coating them, then I could use the rims all year round. :D The thing I am not sure about is would regular spray gun clear coat work on aluminum rims?

Yes she is really flexing! lol, when I got out to take the pic, I had to really push the door open, it wouldn't pop open easily.

With my polished wheels I've been wanting to try or see if its possible clear powder coating them. I don't know if a clear would "stick" to a polished surface like that.

I had feeling the regular stuff probably wouldn't stick. Clear powercoat would be sweet, I'll have to check into that.

Defiantly check into it, becasue I have done powder coating and used clear before but only over another powder. And if you think about it powder coat is a polyester, so essentially a plastic. It just uses a electrical charge to stick and then melts over what ever its on. So in theory it sounds like it would work but in real world I have no idea with durability on something that's polished and slick. hahaha

Polished the rims a couple days ago, looks much better than having a dull bronzed look:

Looks great! What polish did you use? And what type of wheel cleaner? Mine need polished and I'm trying to decide how aggressive I'll need to get with the process

For the polish I just use Mother's Mag and Aluminum. I tried a wheel cleaner, but they're not what they're cracked up to be, I just used some Dawn-like dish soap and water to clean them before polishing.
