hi,i blew the rear diif on my truck, it is a 93 sierra 4x4, i found a rear end with the same gearing that is a 5 lug from a 2x4. can i switch my axles into the 2x4 rear diif to have the 6 lug, or is there a difference in size

I do not think you can and the reason is there is a width difference in the 2x4 and the 4x4 so I think the 6 lug axles will be longer.

Nope, 4x4 is wider. You should be able to find one pretty easily. Try Car-part.com

thanks, what makes it longer, is the housing not the same, and if i just bolted the whole 2x4 rear end up, would not not fit right in place and i would just have 5 lu instead of 6
thanks for your reply , have not had much luck with this question ,

You could bolt it in, the width is different from the spring perches out from my understanding. You could bolt it up and have a 6 lug rear but it would be wider than the 5 bolt one.

not sure where your at, but Pull a Part in Montgomery Al has a 3.73 10 bolt rear 6 lug with G80 in a Z71. around 100 bucks plus a core charge. And if your not near hear, Pull a Part is all thru the southeast and up to IN & maybe OH. They have a website & u can search their inventory by location, but unfortunately they dont tell ya eng/trans in vehicle.
