Well... I ordered the front and rear kit from Andy’s Auto Sport for the 454 a couple days ago. It was about $150 cheaper than anywhere else. Now all I gotta do it hit up my local JY and find me a 2WD 2500 with a 14 bolt prime for the pick’n and get with BT about what all I’m gonna need to convert my flip from the 10 to 14 bolt. All said, I figure it shouldn’t cost much more than the $150 I saved until I start looking to put in that truetrac in.

Im confused, is your truck a SS454, if so they come with the 14 bolt 3rd member correct, and the axle housing is 3.5" in diametr also.
Your truck looks to be lowered about like mine so look at my photos above so that you see what the end link will look like after modding it. Good luck

My truck is not a 454SS. Just a good ol’ Vortec 350. I want to be able to run the 6 lug wheels while also getting the durability of a 14 bolt so it’s a win win all the way around for me. Thanks for the pics!

Im assuming the truck in your avatar is yours right? So maybe this will help or not, the 14 bolt is larger than the other in overll size so if yours is lowered then the possibility of the pumpkin hitting the bed is there. Mine did so my neighbor created the "hat" for my bed which you see in the photo, gave me the clearance needed after lowering another 2". Any U bolts you might need also have to be 3.5" instead of the 3" yours now uses.

I didn't have any trouble with the 14 bolt hitting the bottom of the bed on my '94 C2500LD, but I sure did beat the Belltech notch brackets with the bump stop pads. Bent 'em a little..

I had the old (terrible job BTW) C notches cut out and had under bed/over frame notches done recently because I was frequently bottoming out on them. It gave me about almost 4" more travel, but of course I them installed 2" drop shackles to get the truck level so once in a while it will hit on bad dips.
How low was your tuck? I figure mine is sittin at 8'+ down

It only has a flip with bolt-in notch on the rear. When I first did the flip I failed to notice that it had 2” shackles as well so I was sitting on the bump stops (first pic). Once I put factory style shackles back on, I had clearance and a much improved ride (second pic). Honestly, the truck looks to be sitting lower than I expected 6” to look... but I’m happy with the overall stance and look. I scrub the front splitter on enough **** around ATL so any lower and I’d have some bigger issues.

Based on the convo here and some pics by sewlow of his notched bed crossmember which I currently don’t need... I think I should be able to get away without putting a hole in the bed and just doing a notch instead.

Are the box crossmembers any different on a stepside than a fleetside? Not familiar.
When mine was at a 6" drop & with no crossmember notch, damn...I was looking for my old mouthguard!
I'd smashed the pumpkin so hard into the crossmember so many times that I'd actually bent the whole floor of the box & it was pushed up about 3/4"!
When we made the first cut for the notch, the bed floor popped back with a loud resounding Bo-i-n-n-n-g!
"What the hell was that?"
Both of us under the truck were out of there faster than you could say..."Holy ****!"

Haha. I’ve been underneath and then out from underneath vehicles quickly once they start making foreign sounds as well.

Far as the box, I’m not sure if there is a difference. There may be because even when I was sitting on the bump-stops I didn’t notice the pumpkin hitting or see and damage to the bottom of the box. Once I get under there again, I’ll take a better look and snap some pics.
