I got a set of those stainless in-channel ones from LMC a while ago, wasn't impressed with the quality or fitment, especially as they were $60. Ended up returning them.

I hate it when companies charge a premium for cheap products.

I saw they made those, I think it would suit a square body more than our trucks, since ours is one large window instead of the two. I don't even know why they still sell them for the 400's.

Amen to that

Rehashing old thread (sorry) -

no cutting/modification required.

Just curious about the install. My instructions for the AVS in-channel visors show what appears to be a removal of the window seal and installing a metal clip thingy before applying the visor into the channel.

Did you have to do this?

Yeah, just pull it away enough to squeeze the clip into place, then push the seal back in. The clip is black plastic that matches the vent and holds it in place.

Not a great pic, but here's mine, zoomed in. You don't even notice the clip.....

Thanks guys.

Took me some figuring and placing but I finally figured it out.
Once I put it on to test fit, I saw that wing wouldn't go under the seal.... After some curse words, I eventually figured the wing went on the outside .... and the clip held the wing to the outside of the seal.
Not a very clear/detailed pictograph/instruction, but I managed to get the round peg in the square hole.... Lol.

Glad you got it in! Looks great! :D I always thought these trucks looked great with window vents.

Yes I did have to pull that seal to get that metal clip in there as well.

I can not figure it out and dont understand what its purpose is! i dont see it on any other car/truck that I can recall and to me is just a useless eyesore. But I guess it mostly bugs me cuz idk what in the world it is. lol

Window guide. Helps keep the window from pulling away from the body when you close it while moving.

i mean that makes sense but why do you not see it on other vehicles? was this a cheap solution to a more costly design or just lack of knowledge in those days? whatever, this is not the thread to have that discussion in so im over it. but i will say i like the last comment in the link you provided that it was an anti theft device. that was pretty good. haha anyway, thanks for the heads up df2x4!
