This thing (stock) rides like a truck....
Any one have a lowered 1993 C2500 Light Duty truck that has been dropped?
A ton of info for the 1500s out there, but I am concerned about the rear leaf spring diffeernce and the effect on the ride when lowered.
Appreciaet any help provided...thx

Source your front drop parts same as a 1500. Flip kit for the rear sourced for a 454SS since you have the 9.5" 14 bolt rear.

What ride quality difference do you expect there to be based on the leaf springs? A proper drop has nothing to do with that.

Sorry, I need to re-phrase that....
I suspect that the ride in the rear is harsher on an unloaded 2500 versus a 1500.
I aquired the c2500 by chance, and did not have an actual need to have a 3/4 ton truck over a 1/2 ton.
I was advised that I could remove a leaf to soften it up a bit, or look to replace it with a 1500 leaf set.......
Was hoping someone would chime in on that...
Thanks

I would not remove a leaf. It's a nice firm ride without being rough. You're already giving up load capacity by virtue of shortening your suspension travel; it's gonna bottom out on the notch if you put anything heavy in the bed. I worked the hell out of mine and it did have a few little bends in the notch..

That is a C2500 "light duty" - don't let the 5 lug pattern fool you. I swapped the front rotors for 1500 parts (same exact rotor just 5 lug instead of 6) and had a shop re-drill the rear axle flanges and drums for 5 lug. That's more than a 4/6 though, the front springs are 3", and IIRC it has shackles along with the flip kit at that stage.. I went back and forth a little with it about an inch up/down on the drop over the years. Always kept the full rear spring pack though.

This pic is after bringing it back up with 2" springs and stock shackles, to install 20x8 front / 20x10 rear Boss 338's for the time my wife was driving it.

Front is a spindle and spring drop. Spindles are 2", springs are 2", my suggestion is Belltech for quality but others may recommend DJM spindles. Order them for a C1500 with heavy duty brakes (1.25" rotors vs. the 1" that would come on the first couple year regular cabs.)

Rear is a flip kit, order for a 454SS. Again I *strongly* suggest Belltech as their flip kit is superior to DJM's in every way possible.

Also suggest the Belltech shocks.

I don't have part #'s for you...I built that truck 12 years ago and sold it 5 years ago, all the receipts went with it.

Lol is this why my flip kit does not want to fit right? I have a 2500 and bought a 1500 flip, guess I should get the 454 kit instead
