I think I saw somewhere where it was 96 or so and ended in 98 which is what I have is a 98. I know people tell me if I ever sold it I could easily get 10 for it as is because of how rare and how many people would want one.

Welcome to the forum! You sure have a rare truck! I've heard they didn't make a whole lot of those back in the day.

I’m pretty sure it started in 96 and ended in 98 and less of the 4x4 ones were converted. I have the 98 z71 and I love it. Been told I shouldn’t take less than 10 if I ever got the idea to sell it even tho it needs work. It’s rust free so that’s always a plus tho. It came with the 5.0 which is something I haven’t too often seen in obs chevys. Not sure what you may have in yours or anyone else. It was swapped to a 5.7 tho becauseprevious owner took poor care of it.

My truck has got a 5.0 in it. Not a bad engine at all but I wouldn’t mind swapping in a 5.7

A 5.7 would be a good cheap upgrade without having to do a bunch of modifications. From what I have heard, the 5.0 basically gets the same mileage as the 5.7, but it has less power and torque.

I can verify. I get 12 mpg a good week, I can’t complain about power though. She’s slow but honestly I’ve never had too little power for what I do
