I've been using Four Season's motors. I may have burned out my 2nd one (I run them a lot). I noticed it wasn't working tonight. I've done zero troubleshooting since it's dark and cold right now.

I've been told the VDO is junk, and the Delphi comes from China now.

The Four Seasons is from Canada, if I recall correctly.

Has anyone used the TYC? It's Tiawanese, and they are an OEM, they're not just aftermarket.

I think it's dead. I checked for voltage (14.x) today, and pounded on the motor and still nothing. I noticed the end of the motor is rusting, which is weird.

I didn't pull it, because it's still cold and I don't want a big hole in the box before the heater core. I'll order a new blower today. I think I'm going to try the TYC.

Go to O'Reilly and the Murray one, which is reboxed VDO... Lifetime warranty so when it goes bad, they'll give you another one.

I don't recall the details, but I was warned against VDO... vibration maybe?

I've installed a few and I've never had any problems. I've processed plenty of warranty ones, though... I'd guesstimate maybe 3-5 years is average lifespan.

Ok, so the TYC is a cheap piece of crap. It's different than OEM, but probably would work ok, except the blower wheel wobbles. I'll loose a few dollars returning it, but I'd rather do that then have a vibrating blower. I'll order another Four Seasons like I had before.

Also, I removed the bad blower... it definitely doesn't work, as I connected it to my charger. If it has brushes they are probably ground up, or it just over heated and died. I got a bunch of leaves in the HVAC box, and the vent tube for cooling the motor was plugged with leaves. So it's my fault it's bad, as I was fully aware of the leaves.
