I am leaving work go about 100 feet and here load pooping but still moving ok
Go another 200 feet see check gauge light No oil pressure.
Stop and shut down engine ,push truck back to work parking lot (Lucky not that fare away)
Engine is a 383 stroker with about 5000 miles on it
So I am thinking blown head gasket
No idea yet on why no oil pressure
Will get truck home this Monday and start taking it apart

Any thoughts on why
Also the truck is a 1997 2 Dr Tahoe automatic 5.7 votec changed to 383
Can anyone tell me if the rear main oils seal is a one piece or two
Thanks in advance the adventure begins again

First thing i would do is check and make sure there is oil in it. no oil no pressure. The rear main should be a one piece as long as it is a 87 up block. The pop could be anything. Hard to tell with out seeing it. I highly doubt it is a head gasket. Ive never seen a head gasket blow and cause the problems you are describing

No oil pressure... first check if oil is there. If so, make sure the oil pressure sender didnt break, leak or just get unplugged.

Yes there is oil in it.mixed with water
Might be a good call also about the sender
i am thinking the shaft at the bottom of distributer or clogged screen ,or pickup fell off.
Thanks for help

Not good! Pull the distributor and check the gear - if it's worn out, the oil pump won't turn. Stripped gear will change the timing and make it pop. Then you need to find out where the water came from.

Popping could be caused by a miss firing cylinder that got water in it from a blown head gasket. It would be dumping unburned fuel from the dead non firing cylinders causing it to ignite in the exhaust.
