Just my opinion, but.... It's not like this place is bustling with activity.
When I post something in the morning, get busy and come back at the end of the day and find it on page 3 of Today's Posts, I would call that bustling with activity! This forum is for a very specific audience of enthusiasts for vehicles that range in age from 31 to 20 years old. Show me a site for something else that old that has more constructive activity than this site and I'll be shock-ed and amaz-ed!

Just my opinion, but.... It's not like this place is bustling with activity. Yeah, the guy was slow on communication but in the end no one was screwed here. I don't see the point in banning anyone, quite the opposite actually, we should be encouraging more participation. It's hard enough to find decent people in regards to these trucks amidst the sea of know-nothing knuckleheads with 1500 dollar crapbox trucks, why we'd want to ban anyone with something real to bring to the table is beyond me.

The site has a reputation and that's worth not suffering guys that do what this guy did. Right now it's considered the go to place for all things GMT 400 related. Like any forum it has some chuckleheads, some very knowledgeable people and everything in between. Shaggy has every right to protect its reputation and integrity. While I disagree with some of how it was done I agree 100% that it was done.

I've witnessed 4 drops of the ban-hammer since I've joined. With good reasons for all 4. Even then, they were forewarned plenty of the consequences of their behaviour. It's certainly not a reqular occurrence.
More than a few others have been shamed into leaving by the upstanding members. Most went away quietly.
...and then there was this one guy...!
Older members will know of whom I refer to. Lol!
In my opinion, Shaggy did the right thing.

Fair enough. Admittedly I've only been here a short time, so I don't have the reference. Carry on.

Lol! Yea. Spammed every page on the board. Even used the the alias, 'The GMT400 Troll'. Like we wouldn't know who that was, based on his previous behaviour. He actually published a hit list of members he was out to 'get'.

I think every board gets "that guy" at some point. As long as you're not the staff having to clean up after him its always kind of amusing. :)

I absolutely love going to the junkyard and finding parts-so much that I try to go on vacations

Same. Some people have a gym membership...I have a junkyard membership lol. I usually go at least once a month, sometimes multiple times in the same week if I see they got something in I need parts off of (online inventory FTW!)

And I'm also guilty of going on vacation. Went to Austin last fall & spent an afternoon in a junkyard drooling over all the rust free parts. At some point I'm going back with a trailer to haul some of it back home to the rust belt.
