Hey guys,

So I bought an entire truck - a 2000 Chevrolet 2500HD with the 6.0L and the 4L80E. Wondering if there's any information here for wiring diagrams/to help me with the swap? Wiring is my major concern - but I plan to run the ECM, trans, transfer case, rad, e fans, and motor from the 6.0L in my truck. I've already got a 14b SF rear end and I'm fine with the 8.25 front end as I won't be beating on it.

Long term goals are a turbo and maybe mild cam on the motor after it's in and working well. Would like to see 500WHP. I will need info a motor mounts (currently thinking dirty dingo sliding mounts?), trans crossmember and anything to do with security. I'm guessing I'll be forced to run a tune and cut out some features such as security, EGR, etc.

Any information is greatly appreciated.

Make the 6.0l standalone, and make the truck harness standalone. For the Ls harness just google Ls standalone harness, for the truck, you can just bundle up the wiring for the engine sensors and controls, or carefully trim out the stuff you don't need. I pulled the whole harness on my swap and and clipped the extra stuff i wasn't using out then rewrapped the harness.

Yep your gonna need a tune either way.

The easiest thing for the engine/trans is to just pull the whole harness and remove what you don't need. I've done several and the first one will take you awhile. After that they are a piece o cake.

I used dirty dingo slider mounts and everything lined up perfectly.

Even a 1999-2007 front mount turbo kit fit the 1991 like a champ.

Seems like a bit of a waste considering I have the factory ECM, trans, wiring, etc. Wouldn't it be simpler to just use what's already there and stick with it?

Yes. Should be an LQ4 in this truck.
The first LQ4 had steel heads and a longer crank snout out the rear along with a different flexplate. Just wanted to make sure you got a newerish one with alum 317 heads.
