Just towed my “racecar” down to autocross this weekend. It’s nice knowing I have a guaranteed ride home.

It's autocross man, that thing would have to be a huge pile to break while circling cones to the point it couldn't get you home.

I guess I'll jump on the bandwagon here and showcase what I hauled, not pulled.

Ended up being nearly as tall as my monster slide in in the dually. I decided the cover of darkness was the smartest way to transport. Those back legs were on the edge of the gate by like 1/2". I cranked the straps so hard I began to worry they'd break. Luckily less than a mile from the house the weather was ****** and snowing like crazy so everyone was driving slow as balls. I was worried the thing would take flight at highway speeds, but fortunately 40mph was enough to pass everything in sight. In hindsight I could have hiked the back up a little and added some downforce to the thing.

I was a drag strip where a fella blew his Shelby GT500... he drove it to the track... anything can happen, it just tends to happen more when you are flooring it.

Yeah it’s a car I got for free. I fill all the seats with my buddies and let her rip hard! It’ll probably be fine, but you never know.

Having the truck is also great for bringing whatever extra gear like chairs and pop up canopies.

This isn't a 700hp car trying to launch, it's a Honda whipping around cones. I don't know know that I've ever seen a car break at an autocross. Way back in 2013 I brought a cooler, tent, bedding, clothes, and gas in my Z06 for a track weekend.

I would just feel safer towing my car there. Especially if I am about to push it beyond the bounds in was designed to handle. That’s just me though...

Autocross doesn't do that to a car. Hell my truck gets more of a workout towing enclosed than my car would through the cones. Now the real question is did blue turd leave the tow bar on when he autocrossed?

The best run I had paid $265/ton. I ran 2-3 weekends a month that summer. I collected scrap from anywhere I could find it. I had to go 200 miles to get to a salvage yard that would pay. Now I'm just dumping it at the local city dump in their metal pile, for nothing. They won't even help lift the stuff off so my poor old trailer is taking a beating when we unload. On the bright side, when I'm done the trailer will get the shop space for the winter to get rebuilt.
I loved when scrap was high! It got as high as $325/ton here briefly. I used to scrap all the old metal display racks from work when the new displays would come in. Now they just throw it all in an open top dumpster.
