I ran into the exact same problem with my ecsb. I ended up trimming the bed mount. Then the Belltech hangers lined up perfectly with the holes in the frame. What did you end up doing?

I know this reply is probably to late to be of any help but just saw you post today for the first time but anyways.... Thats exactly what I did. Notched the bed mount after that the hangers lined up perfectly.

While the box is off you should also use the Belltech upper shock mounts as well. They

I found the ride slightly harsher than stock in the rear. I think Belltech has a cheaper softer drop shock, rather than the silver colored street performers.

These install super easy. Drill 2 holes. Maybe do a little trimming on factory bracket.

Question about the upper mounts. Did you use the drop shocks with them or are those stock height shocks? Im 4" in the rear on an ecsb and thinking about the upper mounts . Just trying to get some info. I saw in an earlier post you said you use the upper mounts and extenders. I just thought that would be a bit much for just a 4" drop.

Finally go around to getting my belltech drop spindles on. I was wondering does any grinding have to be done to the steering stops on the lca. Looks to me like I can get a lot
more turning radius out of it if I remove the stop. The belltech spindle has a bit more material there than the stock one. Looks as if it will cut turning radius down.

Well since i am doing a 4 inch rear drop, and want to keep stock length shocks, i used 2 inch upper extender / relocators. Just installed stock length KYB GR2s at all 4 corners as well. They work well for what i was after, a bit stiffer than stock but not punishing. They ran me about $100 shipped from rockauto, and right now they have a $25 mfgrs rebate. I also have 2" lower extender / relocators i ordered but have not gotten yet. This will allow full travel of the stock length shocks. With the axle bottoming out on the stops before the shock does.

Both the upper and lower brackets installed add the 4".back in for shock travel thats lost when you lower it that same amount, they also relocate the shocks to a more corrected upright angle.

I hope this explains it better.

I would leave the stops alone, however you will need to trim both sides of the LCAs similar to the line i drew on your pic in case you ever need to install your stock spare tire. Otherwise it will hit in these locations pretty badly. I found out the hard way when i needed to use my stock spare tire and it hit in these spots.

I am using 1970s 15x7 pickup rallyes in the front and 15x8 suburban rallyes on the back. Those cleared with the drop spindles no problem, it was years later when i figured out the stock OEM 94 truck rims hit.

Thanks for your help. I understand what you have going on with the shocks and mounts. I already have the belltech street performance shock for the rear. I would still like to do the upper mounts at least to get the shock back to the correct angle but I don't know if that will throw the shock travel off with it being a drop shock. As for the spindles and stops I will leave them alone just seemed like it was limiting steering travel to me. The lca trimming will be done as needed but Im running 22" rims so its really no trouble with that right now but I understand I may need the spare at some time. I got just about $1000 in just tires so I better not need a spare anytime soon.

I used the beltech street performance shocks all around. I probably could have stuck with stock length shocks, but they bolted up just fine. I think I would have done the Bilsteins in hindsight.

The fronts were a different story. I had to jack up the lower control arms and put weight on the front suspension to make the shocks long enough to thread on the top nut.

I just hope you dont end up needing that spare before you trim those arms.

Another question... I purchased my kit second hand and it didn't come with the parts for the drive shaft carrier bearing. Will this be critical for the drive shaft?
