Obviously not copied from the factory design. That thing was dangling and was a pain to get out of the tank. Here's what it should be.

Also decided to get after some frame rust that recently caught my eye. Luckily it came right off and wasn't pitted in there.

As I was installing the rear shocks it seemed as though the axle sat crooked.

If you look closely you can see the gate is higher on the right than the left. I think it's time to see a frame shop.

this.... what happened to your profile lol

I got locked out for some reason; the login kept saying my password was incorrect. I sent 3 emails trying to get it to reset and they never went through.

@Supercharged111, how it the exhaust ran on your K1500? I'm debating on redoing mine and I like the looks of the big single pipe and tip at the factory location.

Dual 2.5" coming off of the headers, driver's side merges over at the back of the t case, then y pipe to single 3" muffler with mandrel bend Walker 3" tailpipe. That tailpipe is about donesky though after 9+ years of service. Probably going to go to the 4" diesel talipipe setup I did on my dually with a Walker bus muffler on this too. But that will require full front to back redo and motivation, so once the hanger rips off the pipe I'll start giving a ****.

Got a part number or anything for the 3" pipe? I could never find a 3" tailpipe for a truck or Suburban when we were pricing **** out for the exhaust on my brother's Suburban.

No I got that from Auto Value I think, local parts store. I just asked for a tail pipe and that came up mandrel bent and all.

Here's another view of how the wheels hang freely. Left side and hanger.

Right side.

Seems like the right side is lacking a bit in down travel. Nothing appears bent. My hope is that this is being cause by me not torquing the leaf spring bolts with weight on wheels? Or maybe I did one side and not the other? The hanger bushings are destroyed on both sides, so could also have bushings seized to bolts and who knows what else. The pics were taken with all the bolts cracked loose and nothing changed. I did manage to drill that hole just right for the evap pressure sensor.

Dropped right in the tank so apparently small and big tanks used the same sender.

Next was the 1 ton torsion bars swap. 1500 bars came in around 34.2mm and the big bars around 36.4mm IIRC. The keys were clocked differently from 1500 to 3500 as well. All 4 had the same part number but all 4 had a different marking on them ranging from 15, 16, 18, and 20. I really couldn't see a difference from 15 to 16 or 18 to 20.

Had a bit of a snafu getting the bars in, turns out there is a left and a right. I never really paid attention as, up to this point, I'd only removed bars. After that I cleaned, painted, and swapped out the steering box, idler arm, inner tie rod, pressure hose, and added a factory ps cooler.

And all these years I was worried the cooler wouldn't fit with the HID ballast.
