I am tossing around the idea of cranking the bars in my 95 so that is rides level or at least to possibly fit 33's. My question is how do you guys figure how far you have cranked? You you measure the clearance from the frame to the ground before and you crank or do you eyeball it for level? Im not looking to do much just give a little more clearance. Also i don't know much about IFS im used to solid axles. After I cranked them would I have to have it realigned? Im sure that I will but If i don't that would save me some money I could put into buying shocks.

Usually just measure from ground to the bottom of fender lips and try to match them up.

Yes to an alignment when you’re done.

Be sure to check your cv axle angles and your ball joint angles. I cranked to put on the 33s, cranked too much and had serious death wobble. I had to decrank to eliminate the death wobble when braking.

Yeah the fender lips on both sides of mine are rotted away so i cant measure from there. Would measuring from the frame to the ground work? I cant see why it wouldn't.

start by cranking evenly on each side... 1 full turn on each side, then measure and repeat. if at the end you are slightly lopsided compared to where it is now then slowy bring one side up or down to level out.

And drive it after cranking / before measuring to let the tires and suspension relax to the new height.

I don't know if you have a six lug or an eight lug 2500 OP, but here is what it looks like on an eight lug 2500 with the torsion bars maxed out as far as they will go with 315/75/16 tires. So you should have no problem clearing 33s with a slight crank of the torsion bars.

Mine is the 8 lug 2500. And the doors are still intact. The fenders are the only thing that is heavily rusted out.

Yep the doors are still intact. The fenders are the only thing that is heavily rusted out. every thing else is just dented or scratched up. I think the rockers have some surface rust but nothing major if I remember right
