Thanks. Yeah I got them sent over here, I have a bad miss and I would like to find the NGK equivalent as I cant get AC delco in NZ. I would like to eliminate the plugs being the miss before I go looking at the dizzy, wires or fuel pump...
I used the AcDelco Rapid Fire platinum. Good upgrade from the copper

the 99 is kicking my ass. so it was throwing a million engine codes. cleared them all and it set new codes saying a mis fire on cyl 7 and also said the mas air flow was junk. replaced mass airflow then replaced cap with a good cap brass inserts and a good rotor. new acdelco wires and new ac plugs as well. run lots better but still not right. broke down and bought the new injector pack and spider lines also ac brand. new air filter and fuel filter. truck runs great for the most part but idles like crap. still saying misfire on cyl 7. does anyone have a clue where to go next? I checked the compression and have 165 on the cylinder. the motor only has 30,000 miles on it so shouldn't have any issues but one never knows. cant find any vacuum leaks and running out of things to even guess at. the old injector pack and spiders were junk as was the mas air flow. this good deal is starting to get costly.

Here are the diagnostics for P0307 for a 98, it’s probably going to be the same for a 99. Maybe it will help.

It references the enhanced ignition testing, let me know if you need that.

its a 99 but its the old body style and has the vortec 350 in it. the truck body has 265,000 miles but motor has 30,000. I have a decent code scanner but don't have a few of the tools you listed. Anyone in the southeast Kansas area want to fix the thing on the side. have cash if you can fix it and not want a million bucks. after the codes are cleared the cel stays off for usually 15 miles and as soon as it sets the idle goes to hell and is ruff.

yes the odb1 is way simple. that's what the old 88 short bed step side 4x4 has and it runs like a champ. if it keeps it up there will be a whole host of vortec parts for sale on here as I am close to just taking the intake and all off and going to a aftermarket intake with a fitech efi and with a different ign system as well. would like to stay factory but tired of it already and its stayed stock longer then anything I have ever owned anyways.

I've got a stupid question:
My other gm project, a 1989 Firebird, needs an oil change. It's got a 305 tbi (same engine as some of the 400s, so I figured I'd ask here :33:) I want to clean out the crankcase before I put new oil in, I've heard that some people use diesel. Is this viable, or should I use sea foam.

Ive used diesel before don't really know how well it work. Ive thought about using sea foam but havent yet. Ive also thought about atf since it has quite a bit of detergent in it and has some lubricating abilities

I wouldn't see any harm in adding a quart of tranny fluid in with 4 quarts of wally world oil and a cheapo filter your next oil change... running it for a week or so and then draining it out and putting your fav oil and filter in... transmission fluid has a lot of detergents and can help clean out your engine.

I always feel safer about adding in transmission fluid vs seafoam, etc... I leave seafoam for the fuel tank...
