Column shifter jumps to neutral when gas is hit kinda hard

My column shifter keeps jumping into neutral if I hit the gas quick or hard at all. Can't figure it out.

In the old days suspect #1 would be broken engine mount. These days they generally have a failsafe design that prevents major separation so it's less likely. Also you didn't mention what year truck; this would be a potential issue for 94 and older as they have a mechanical rod type linkage vs. 95-up with a cable.

Have someone gently power brake it while you watch the engine. If it tilts over toward the passenger side more than just a small amount, the mount is the problem.
