Just and FYI for future readers,

SRT10 = 500hp, 535ft/lbs, 13.6 1/4mile, 4.9 0-60, 153mph top speed, and $45,000

I would say forced induction and weight reduction. But for $45,000 or less you could have one badass gmt400 with better stats than that.
Yeah, but to put it into context - GMT400's aren't new anymore and neither are those SRT10's. You can pick up a 2005-2006 for about 20K in good shape. It feels a little overpriced to me but some are paying near that for a same-year Silverado SS and those are significantly down on power compared to the SRT10.

You can get into the 13's with the stock motor and a hit of nitrous, and shift improver kit. I have a '97 2dr. Tahoe with a stock motor, 125 shot with a fogger nozzle, shift kit with the 3-4 servo kit, k&n air intake, electric fans and run 13.90's. Oh yeah also have 272,000 miles and is lowered. A cam and roller rocker swap would put with the srt. Motor pass on left and Nitrous pass on right
