Can I swap in a zf6 behind a vortec 454? Does anyone make a kit for this?

You would need a body lift, and the rear cross-member would likely need to move. Plus you'd need clutch pedal assembly, and the hydraulics for it. Why the swap?

I’ve always loved driving manuals, and the 4l80e is a power hog. Plus the zf is the only manual that isn’t the nv4500 that’ll work with 4x4

It comes behind the 8.1L (496 CI), so I would assume that it would work with a 454 too. It is a tall case so Christian is right about body lift, cross members, etc. Gotta ask though (not that I don’t think a ZF swap would be awesome) why not an NV4500?

Hell I'd be excited for a ZF6 or a NV4500, the latter is $1,500+ around my area which sucks, I need like three of them!

I bought a parts truck with one, then flipped it with the SM465 that came out to break even. I won’t say what I paid to rebuild the NV4500 last summer though... [emoji37][emoji37][emoji37]

Can't argue with that. I've always wanted a nv4500 in my truck. The price of the swap usually deters me though. Maybe someday when my 4l80e gives up, I'll work up the courage to swap it.

Honestly I’d be fine the nv4500 I was just curious if the zf would fit cause the closer gears would be better for daily driving it. I haven’t looked around at pricing for any of this yet. I might just buy a nv4500 donor vehicle and swap everything over, I’ve seen some cheap ones around here that could pick up. Unless a cheap zf pops up somewhere close ill probably go with the nv4500.
