Exactly, the 14 bolt is the same as any other axle from a 4x4 no difference in width only difference is how stout its built, your putting the axle under a 2wd so gear ratio does not matter because your not pairing it with a front axle, the track width will not increase with the lift like a 4x4

So much mis-info in this thread.

1. Yes 2WD rearends are about 3" shorter

2. 2500LD 4x4 is the exact same as a F44 1500 4x4, just early years had 2500 on doors

3. F44 was never avaible in a 2wd, all 1/2tons 2wd's had 10 bolts, to get a 2wd length 14-bolt you had to get a 2500LD 2WD (excluding 454SS)

4. A lift spindle for a 2WD, INCREASES TRACK WIDTH, no way around this.

5. A Z71 rear is the exact same as a 4x4 rear.

Pretty sure all this was already cleared up in this thread at different spots.... Nice to have it all in one post though

Side note... Yes, 2wd lift spindles do widen the track width, but don't they basically widen it to right around a factory 4x4 front width?
