Here's how I increased the signal from my Keyless entry remote 7x!
I could only lock/unlock my truck from ~5 feet. Now I can do it from 35 feet away.

Items needed:
Soldering iron
Solder
~4" wire

Here's the average distance for the factory remote (in my case).

The FCC has a maximum signal output that the manufacture must abide buy. Well, like Bieber F 'em!

Process:

Use a flat screwdriver to separate the two halves of the remote

The 2 halves & the buttons were little dirty.... Clean 'em up.

I need to do this once I get a new keyless remote. Think mine's crapped out. Good write-up!

Jolly Green: Also,
When your ready, here's the factory part #'s
Current GM P/N: 16245102
P/N on remote: 16245100-29 or
16207901-5
FCC ID: AB01502T

But as you can see (by my pictures) that I have a remote from an SUV. So don't be too picky ;)

Thanks for the P/N's! I've tried changing the battery, but the I believe the remote has seen better days.

I was thinking the same, but I have issues with other keys in my pocket pushing the buttons on the remote and unlocking my truck. You ever have this problem? That's the only reason I'm glad mine doesn't have very good range.

I'm the same as Jolly Green. Noticed my remote just wasn't really working. Sometimes I'll have to stand there like an idiot and walk around the truck pressing the button a million times before it will unlock...I have an Autopage alarm system that's been on the truck a loooong time. It's amazing what all I've put this remote through and it still works. I replaced the battery and it didn't increase in strength. Then a couple days ago I noticed it wasn't wanting to work at all....Then randomly today it started working normal again???? I think something must be going on with the little board inside with the connection but I have no idea with that type stuff. This mod looks awesome. Welcome to the site by the way but sounds like I need to go ahead and figure this remote problem out first.
