I have power windows on my 1994 Suburban. The other day I tried to roll it down and it got stuck half way down. I tried rolling it back up and nothing happened. It finally rolled up, but then made a horrible popping sound inside the door. I'm going to take off the door panel, but I haven't taken door panels off of this Suburban before. Are there any tricks to it or things that I should watch out for? Thanks.

It was more than likely the cable on the window motor breaking.

Your 2 problems could be isolated. The noise in the door could be a loose regulator, motor, or broken part. the window working intermittently could be a broken/frayed wire in the door jamb boot, which is a common problem.
