Will this OBD II scanner work?

I have a suspicion that my SES light is burnt out, does this look like it would work? Has good reviews.

I don't see why it wouldn't. I got mine at Pep Boys for roughly the same price.

I would guess that there is a bulb check, like when the ignition/key is rotated from off to run, shouldn't the SES light illuminate momentarily or something ?

Just my 2 cents, sorry I don't have any info on that reader for ya.

That's what I thought, it doesn't come on.

The bulb circuit test info I have is for a 1999, 5.7.

With the ignition off, remove connector C4(black)from the VCM, turn the ignition on leaving the engine off, using a fused jumper connected to ground probe the MIL control circuit(brown/white, position #5/circuit #419)at connector C4.

The MIL is supposed to illuminate when that circuit is grounded at the VCM connector C4.

It appears as though there may be 2 brown/white wires at connector C4, the MIL circuit is position #5, the CPP switch signal(trans?)circuit should be the other brown/white wire in position #22.
