Will the 5.3 ECU control a '95 4L60E?

I've been hearing multiple things about this. I have a '95 K1500 with a great 4L60E in it. I'm picking up a '99 5.3, harness and ecu for $500. I want to keep my 4L60E if possible. Some people say since the '95 is a one-off year for tranny's that the 5.3 ECU won't control it. Is this true? But Brendan from LT1swap.com says it will since the '95 is the first year for the 13 pin tranny harness...he's who I'll be doing my harness and ecu programming through but I wanted other opinions from people who have done it.

Mine is 96 and it worked for me. I would assume that since yours is the 60e that you would not have any problems.

See that's the thing...everyone said the '96-00 4L60E's behind the vortec engines would be what I'd need...but if the '95 is a 13 pin I see no reason why it wouldn't work, just wanted to check!!!

I used my oe 95 4L60E behind a 6.0, I had nelson do the tune on and it worked perfect!

So it just plugged into the 6.0 ecu like it did the TBI ecu? If so, that's great news!!

Yes it plugged in to the LS harness, I did not touch the 95 trans, it was completely original. I did splice on the 95's 2 wire VSS connector on the rear of the harness, since the 95 uses a different connector, but even the wires are the right color, it could not have been easier. When I ordered the tune I just told Nelson that I has a 95 trans.

I used the PRND321 wiring on the 95 as well, not from the LS harness, I removed all of that from the ls harness.
