I do not know whether to go with the Bilstein 4600, or 5100.

My truck is a 1996 Chevy k1500 4x4 RCSB. It has the 5.7 vortec.

The 4600's are supposedly for "stock" ride height. I know the 5100's are adjustable, my dad has them on his tundra and they ride awesome. He has used them to get a level stance.

Are any of y'all running the 4600 or 5100? Would the 5100 be good since I'm just cranked to level. Or should I go with 4600? Btw there is no blocks under the leaf springs.

The 5100's are only adjustable as a strut assembly not a shock. The front of our trucks use torsion bars and shocks where as newer trucks use just struts which is a coil/shock combo.

If you go 5100's they are not adjustable. If you want to level the truck you have to crank the torsion bars. I don't think you can go wrong with either one I think the z71's came stock with the 4600's and they are a good ride and quality shock. The 5100's are always a top recommendation for any lifted application. If you are stock or leveled I'd say you will be okay with either one but on lifted trucks the 5100 seems to be the way to go.

The 4600s are what you want. I run them on both of my trucks, they ride great. Both are stock height but I ran the Suburban cranked to level with them for about a year with no issues.

As mentioned, if you were lifted then I might consider the 5100s. Stock or close to stock, 4600s all day.
