Ive been going crazy looking at different wheels and about the only thing i can come up with is this.

I want to run a 17" wheel for daily driving but wanted a matching style 15" for the rear to run a 295/55/15 DR or 28-10.5x15 Slick for the track.

The Cragar Soft 8 is the only wheel i can find that has a 15x10 and 17x9 available in the same style. Then trying to find some type of center cap similar to the 454SS. But those are stupid expensive.

My plan is to run 275/60/17 Nitto 420S for Daily Driving.
And then debating on the 295/66/15 Mickey Thompson S/S DR or the 28-10.5x15 Hoosier Slick.

Any Ideas or concerns :D

Cool thanks,
I am looking for lug nuts now. I went to do a brake job on the 91 this weekend and my buddy i had gotten the truck from used some them stupid antitheft lug nuts.
I found a impact socket that wouldnt fit, got a 5# hammer and made it fit. Hit it with the impact and off they come. Threw them in the dumpster.

My biggest ordeal was trying to match my tire size to gear ratio. Right now i have 3.73s i think and running a 4L80E i wanted my RPMs down under 2000 rpms at 70mph.
I can make the turbo do its thing to get it down the track. But it looks like the 275/60/17 will be the ticket with 3.08 gears, 1800-1825rpms at 70. 1-2 Shift at 6200 will be about 65mph, 2-3 113mph.

3.73s with the 275/60/17 would be 2200rpms, and i dont like that.
My silverado had 3.42s with the 80E and a 265/65/17 and it got the best gas mileage at 2000rpms at 70 but it is a good bit heavier than this '91 Regular Cab Stepside.

back in the day we would use a 12 point deep socket and hammer it on over the lock to get these locks off... "customers" always lost their keys...

275/55-17's are near to the same height/circumference as the factory spec'd 235/75-15's. There's a difference of something like 3 revolutions per mile.
275/60-17's may have some clearance issues in the front.

The width or the height? Or combo of the 2? This is my first dealings with a 400 truck

I found some nitro 421's I can live with on the truck. I put a set of them on my girlfriends explorer and they are a good tire so far.

Different manufacturers have different heights and widths for the same metric size tire too tho. And wheel width kinda changes the tire width.
But yea I understand what you guys are saying. I don't want to buy tires and wheels and then have clearance issues. It's stock height truck in the front and 2" lowering shackles in the rear but I might be adjusting the rear height at some point. Noticed the leaf spring bolt rubs a pinch seam on the bottom of the bed.

Anybody know factory wheel dimensions?
15x8?
Backspacing?
Offset?

I'm not sure what these wheels come off of.
If I can't find any numbers I'll pull a wheel this weekend and measure it best I can.

Those are the factory 15x7 aluminum wheels that were available on the 2WD trucks. Not sure on the backspacing, sorry.
