Only if they are the R12 switches. Clutch cycling (on the accumulator) should stop the compressor when the low side hits 21 psi and kick the comp back on at 42 psi. If the clutch is cycling between 30 and 49 psi, you have the wrong switch. The high pressure switch (back of the compressor) controls only the fresh air vent in the cabin. Should close (ground) and draw recirc air when the high side hits 280 psi, and open (draw fresh air) when the high side reads 210 for 45 seconds.

Cycling switch can be changed with charge in the system (has a Schrader valve behind it). to change the high pressure, you must evac, but since it only controls recirc, you can bypass it.

Probably easiest to hook up some gauges and watch at what psi the compressor cycles. if it shuts off at 30, you ave an r12 switch. if 21 psi, you have a r134 switch.

hard to say. it could be hot enough where you live that the low side pressure is never getting below 30 or 21 psi to shut off the compressor. Mine usually doesn't cycle when its above 90 outside.

Ok... was checking the clutch all was working well... truck was running for around 10 min was about to change the switch at accumulater. Noticed the green slime leaking at the compressor hose connections.... so I went to tighten it after turning off truck and it popped.... literally touched the nut and it popped off. Freon and slime all over... well cleaned it up. And changed switch at compressor and attempted to tighten bolt but no go..
