Does anyone know if there is a rpo code to identify the t case? Or is it easier to just look at the case itself. Because i have electronic t case but not sure which one i have and want to put a stick one in. Which correct me if im wrong a np241. Sorry for all the questions, but whats the np243?

IIRC the 246 wasn't an option until 98, so if it's a pre 98 the only electric case option was a 243.

Most simply a 243 has 2hi, 4hi and 4lo whereas the 246 has a fourth function, auto4 in addition the other three.

Just wondering if someone can tell me the NP241 spline counts? Did they change through the years?
I have a '91 and a '94 NP241 t-case. I need a 32-spline.. hoping to not have to go count the splines lol. Thanks fellas.

32 spline is the the400/4l80e/manual trans version, the 700r4/4l60e used 27 spline, a 94 uses a 3 wire switch to operate the front diff actuator, 91 is a 2 wire, the switches will not interchange cases as the cam that triggers them is a different size, to use a 94 case in a 88-93 truck you need to wire up the 2 wires that make contact in that 3 wire switch to the 2 wire system.

Any way an np246 would work in my truck. It had the 243 stock.

i would have to look at schematics between the two but the 246 has big problems with the pump rubbing through the case and i would just avoid them in the first place

Gotcha, found a few 246's locally, but have yet to find a 243. Guess I'll continue my search! Thanks for the reply
