well i figured i have been here long enough,, its time to make a build thread for my truck,,

i bought my 98 GMC 2500HD ecsb 6.5l turbo diesel back in february. the truck had 83,000 miles on it. it came with a 7 foot sno way snow plow, plow has down pressure. i paid $5,000 for it. running wise the truck was great. body and frame wise it needed some help,,, nothing i cant handle tho... i had to put in new turn signals, marker lights and tail lights due to how dark the po sprayed them with shade tint..

major codes read, that it is an 8600lb truck, 3:73 rears with posi, HD springs, 6.5l high output diesel, premium sound, and other things,, lol,,

i bought the truck in albany new york,, we put the plow and an extra set of tires and wheels in the bed and i drove it 7.5 hours home,, it got about 25.5 mpgs on the way home,,,

the first thing i did to the truck was new wheels bearings in the front,, and brakes all the way around..
the first mod i did was the parking light mod

next it needed a rear bumper in the worst way.. i found one at a junkyard so i get it and a hitch

once i got the hitch on i could do the things i bought the truck for...

this truck has tow many things.. and many very heavy things..

next came the roll bar... it didnt last long,, i just wasnt happy with the look,, plus ive wanted to put stacks on since the day of purchuse..

i bought a used steel 2" cowl hood at a swap meet for 150 bucks... not knowing it had some damage that was covered up by a bug shield,,, nothing i cant fix tho

than came cab lights i plan on tinting thembut i havent had the time yet..

the next thing was tires and rims

305x70r16 apache something or other on 16x10 pro comps

to put the wheels and tires i had to crank the t bars and add 2" blocks,, also did a small amout of trimming,,

lastly i demolded it.. once i get the cab corners and rockers done it will look much better

stacks are sitting on milk creates but it gives a good idea what its gonna look like,, i am going to use dupla colors new chrome tint on the stacks to darken them up a bit,,,

looks awesome... and I know most people are gonna give you hell but I like the stacks. truck looks great so far keep up the good work!

lol,, yea i know,, not too many stack lovers on here,, lol but im gonna put them in,, if i dont like them or something i can take them off and run a 4" out the back or something,,, but for now i want them in,,lol

She will look so much better once you get the rockers and cab corners fixed. Do you play on respraying just the lower section? Are you going to go with the factory gold color? It might be cool to do a full respray on the truck since you have to paint the hood also.

Yea i plan on respraying everything... im going to do the corners and rockers and just paint the entire bottom over winter... i gotta do something about a bed.. not sure what yet tho.. the driver side is starting to bubble... i dont know if i want to patch it or just find another bed... and im pretty sure that once i take those flares off the front senders are gonna have some spots. so new fenders are on the list... plus i just bought a visor with the cab light cut outs so that will need sprayed.. so it will be better off if i do it all at once ..

Oh yea and i just recently replaced the tail gate... i have it in primer now tho.. so its ready to be sprayed too... lol..
