i wouldnt even consider a 200r4 they are weak weak in my opinions, nice ratios but one of the literal worst automatics

Art Carr would disagree with you, he builds 2004R's to withstand 1200 hp, and has run as quick as 7.81 in the quarter at 178.

Of course, things like a 300M maraging steel input shaft, and hardened parts help.

In a heavier vehicle like a truck, it should withstand 500 hp for quite a while.

He can have it. Same with all the guys who build "bomb proof" 700R4/4L60. For a high powered or heavy truck I prefer a heavier transmission. OP if the 700 doesn't hold up I wouldn't bother trying again. They're hit and miss. You sound like you have the means to swap to whatever trans necessary if this doesn't pan out.
