Take the OHC apart (screws on the back) and it should make things simpler

This tahoe ive been trying to get the homelink out of at the yard has plastic rivets instead of screws.

Idk either, thats why i dont have homelink yet. Cant get the wiring for it out.

Mine has the plastic rivets too. It seems like these pockets snap into the console and are held in place by plastic tabs. I just don't want to break anything off the main console. If I can get this OnStar piece out, I'll give it to anyone who wants it.

It seems the later consoles just had melted plastic rivets instead of the screws holding the halves together. You can drill them out and re-assemble with screws just like they did with the earlier consoles, i've done it before.

Does anyone know if it's possible to mount a gmt400 ohc in a gmt800? I need one with the bigger slot so I can mount a DIC in it. I'm unsure if gmt800s came with those

All GMT800 consoles have the larger opening.

A GMT400 console will fit in a GMT800 (I put one in my 02) but there is a gap at the back edge. Not noticeable on a regular cab.
