think of it this way 6 lugs are all the same, 8 lugs are the same. there ya go. cut and dry. f44 is a semi float 14 bolt and leaf package nothing more. z71 is shocks(that are hopefully replaced at this point) stickers and skid plates, g80 is factory govloc. the three do not correlate.

This is not completely correct there are 2 different front brakes systems on the K-1500 truck's. F44 also includes different hub/bearing assemblies, rotors and calipers from the base brakes on a early K-1500

no it does not, PNs are still the same. f44 means 6 lug 9.5" 14 bolt nothing more nothing less.

early and late calipers rotors? rotors stayed the same, calipers as well.........maybe theres medial differece between rwal and 4wabs but why would you put 88 bearings on a 98? same with hubs. front abs system vs non, you arent gonna put one on the other without knowing what your doing.

Tyler, I have worked on these trucks for the 29 plus years. I bought my first one in August of 1988. The base braking system on a K-1500 was JB3. It had a single diaphragm booster, 11.57 x 1 inch solid front rotors,2 1/2" front calipers. 254 mm x 57 mm leading/trailing rear drum brakes, commonly referred to as 10" x 2 1/4".

Like i stated F44 had different Hubs, rotors and calipers than a base K-1500 truck had from 1988 to 1991. There are two different sets of part numbers for the 1988-1991 K-1500 trucks.

JB3 part numbers; Pads 368, Calipers, 553 passenger side, 552 driver side, rotors 5568, Hubs 515002, master cylinder 2218.

JB5 part numbers; Pads 369, Calipers, 555 passenger side, 554 drivers side. rotors 5569, Hubs 515001, master cylinder 2220. these part numbers are good for 1988 to 1994.

In 1995 the hub part number changed to 515024 due to the introduction of 4 wheel ABS. SO, as you can see there are different part numbers for K-1500 pickups

I never said that anyone should put 88 hubs on a 98. 1988 was RWAL and 1998 was 4 wheel ABS.

Just swapped out by JB6 equipped 1995 Yukon with JB7 3.15 Front Calipers and 1.25 Master as the pedal feel is much improved thanks mostly to getting rid of the low drag calipers and quick uptake master. Takes a little more effort but it's well worth it. Still running stock booster.

The rear only slightly locks after i get the drums smokin hot, otherwise it really hauls down quick.

The trick i found to bleeding the master for rock hard pedal was to bench bleed and push at different angles....took about an hour but after that it moved less then a MM.

This HD brake thing and different knuckles is confusing me...

What are the brake upgrade options for my 89 1/2 ton with belltech 2" drop spindles (2400).

I already have nbs master but my orginal calibers are right about end of their journey and i really dont want just to buy new ones if i can have something better.

I did the Caliper swap, very easy, the caliper is the same lenght and all that, only a little taller because of the bigger pistón, I am running 15"s wheels without problem, and is brakes a lot better

Is there a write up for this swap? I am trying to figure out how I can run bigger better breaks on my 98 k1500.

Did the knuckle swap 2012 suburban calipers and pads, trailblazer backing plates in the rear with 05 Tahoe calipers and pads and up grade to master cylinder on my 98 Tahoe sport. I needed the up grade cause i have 24×14 rims with 37in tires because the 2dr didn't wanna stop. Braking is better but the work went into it was tuff and i changed some worn upper control arms so it wasn't cut and paste though
