I bought 2500 front calipers and m/c based on this thread. Turned out, the m/c and calipers are the same as on my 1500. That was because there are TWO brake packages available on the 2500: One for 7200 lb and one for 8600 lb gvw. If you want (slightly) larger calipers, you need the 8600 lb calipers, not just 2500 calipers.

theres only two options thatll work anyhow. 2500ld is the same as 1500, 2500hd is the same as 3500

meaning theres only two caliper, two rotors and two pads thatll work 369 and 370 part numbers at advance and carquest
if your 6 lug you only have 1 rotor option

you can physically bolt both calipers just fine i used the 2500hd/3500 calipers and used 2500/1500 pads.

you cant use 2500hd/3500 pads because with a 1500/2500ld rotor they will hit.

so your combo is 1500/2500ld rotors for 6 lug as they are the same, 2500hd/3500 calipers, and 1500/2500ld 369 pads, your just bumping caliper piston size with the 2500hd/3500 stuff

:)Only thing I had to do was spread the inner pad retaining clips so they can fit snuggly into the bigger caliper cylinder. I just used my hands and it worked like they were meant to fit there...which they are.

.

Was banging my head on the wall thinking I might need to order 3500 pads since they are a different part number till I read this post. Went back out to the garage, spread the clips out and boom goes the dynamite...fits and works. Thanks for posting this. Too bad this post was on page 8 and not on page 1 of this sticky thread.

Hi to all, I am new to the forums, I have a single cab 88 4x4 1500 But I dont like how the brakes work, can I put the brakes of a 4 door 3500 in my truck?
Also wanted to upgrade the rear brakes to disc, But my rear axle is positiva and the axle I saw is normal, that affects for off roading? Thanks and sorry if this is not the right forum

ill try to follow your question. you can use the 3500 calipers but will need 1500 pads. sure as for disc, pull everything off the one axle swap it to the other, i wouldnt swap axles from g80 to open. only worthwhile rear end swap would be a 14 bolt semi float 9.5" and even then you can swap disc stuff from an nbs truck
