Steering slop?

i just finnished doing this to my 96 burban, im going to take it on a test drive to see how it works.
my truck does not have variable steering but the blob joint is on the inside of the firewall.

The allen head bolt on the steering gear doesnt take any slop out it stiffens the steering,

Could Dan or anyone that knows what he means by that comment, explain what he's saying? I've personally noticed a bit of a difference with minor adjustments to the gears, but if the gears are too worn in the "middle"(where gears are when vehicle is moving straight), you'll never get your tight steering back.

pretty easy, the pitman arm i unbolt the box and turned it 90 degrees and its easy to get a puller on

This the info that got me going in the direction that I took with my '98. I went lower with bigger wheels, but the concept is the same. Just haven't been able to afford the shocks ($1500.00/4. !!!), & wouldn't you believe it? I haven't upgraded the steering box & pump, either! Yeesh!
