steering damper?

My truck did not come with a stock steering damper. But are the mounting points there? I can't find pics anywhere.

Yea, I put one on my truck from rockauto. I forgot the part number but it was a kit instead of just the damper. it works good and is easy to install.

I don't understand the point? Why HD gets them and not LD? Why any at all?

it helps with keeping new front end parts better longer when going over potholes and off-roading. and it reduces steering wheel whip if you replace the steering shaft rag joint with a u-joint.

Can you expand more on the first sentence? Seems like a 1500 would benefit as much as an HD.

I bought a rough country steering damper kit but the bracket that bolts to where the stock front skid plate goes bent so I took it off
