Ive got a 1992 k1500. my 225k mile steering box is starting to get a bit sloppy. I am looking to replace this and am wondering if there are any better boxes to go with, or would a reman unit be the best bet? I am willing to spend a bit more money to get a unit that will last quite a long time. I really don't want to have to do any modifications, so a bolt in unit would really be ideal.

Would the Cardone box here be a good choice?

or would the ACDelco be a better choice

I just installed an AGR gear box part# 284352. I really like it. The steering firmed up and gave me a more connected feeling to the road. I no longer have that vague floaty feeling in the steering.

stock replacement will be just fine. but also change your rag joint/ steering coupler... its kind of a pain in the a$$ but its helps a LOT
and while youre at it... you should at least change your pitman and idler arm... inspect the tierod ends too... 225k miles is a lot....
I got a steering stabilizer too from RANCHO when I did mine and WOW did that also help... especially at high highway speeds

Was it a direct bolt in? Or did it require modifications
