I saw those cool little clamp mounts from KC a few days ago. Pretty slick pieces.

Id love to find one of those later GM brush bars, but they are close to being unobtainium. God only knows how many died during the scrap metal craze.
I did try a GM parts search and came up with zilch.

I remember modular style brush guards being the norm. Aluminum was pretty popular stuff in the 80's and early 90's... cant find any of it now...sigh. Another part that went MIA was the Carr stepside bed step plates... waaay better than those cheesy plastic steps that are only good for hospital bills... My uncle had them on his '89 years ago. Called Carr several years ago. Nice people, but they had no clue what I was talking about. Tjey did try to look up the part, but it was simply too old.
Ah well... all good things must come to pass.

Brother Al, any half decent respectable fab shop can make you a grille guard if you desire, even modular.

These days with the ability to waterjet or NC plasma, a good fab shop can make you whatever you want, sometimes for a very decent price.

Aluminum would be nice.

I did see an Ali-arc bumper on a GMT-400 years ago, they make bumpers for all sorts of heavy trucks.

They may still manufacture them for these trucks... give them a buzz.

probably the BEST cornering lamp ever designed.....nothing like it back then or since.

just installed some glass lens spyders last night... seem to fit decent but these drop in HID's def throw a funny pattern. This thread has been an inspiration to read with lighting.. may have to switch back over to some recommended halogens to get a good pattern again.

are these the glass spyders? wasnt sure cuz theyre kinda cheap compared to other prices online. http://www.carparts.com/details/Che...gclid=CJDrh-z359ICFQlYDQod-8wCCw&gclsrc=aw.ds

I'm suspicious of that combo. I Googled that part number and there are a few places selling them marked as "Spyder" kits, but that part number turns up nothing on the actual Spyder website, and I'm pretty sure Spyder doesn't even make corner lights for these trucks any more. They don't have any parking lights listed on their website either, just headlights and tail lights.

You're on the right track there for sure. Think I've posted these a few times but I strongly recommend these Sylvania XtraVision bulbs. Dirt cheap and they work great, with no nasty blue coating on the lenses.

No, those aren't...I got mine on Amazon and they SAY glass...$103+/-.....

And please take out that "HID" garbage. Nothing but a proper halogen bulb should be in there...there's a few real good BULBS out there that will give a very good LEGAL beam for your "seeing" needs. Put the Delco HIR in the high beams, it's a fantastic upgrade....we've gone over this in great detail......if you haven't already, we suggest you read this whole saga, there's a lot of good information within this thread.

also consider a harness upgrade, it'll basically DOUBLE the light output.
