red wire disconnected?

Hey guys, this is probably a stupid question... but on my trailer plug, on my bumper, all the wires are connected except for the red wire. It just dangles behind the bumper. I havent towed anything lately so this doesnt really concern me, but doesnt ge red wire connect to a source of power?

the red wire is prolly for constant 12V or power supply. As in for a 5th wheel to keep the batterys charged in the trailer or some lol

Yup P.O. had this set up on my truck a red wire goes from trailer harness by back bumper and runs up into hood thru the firewall and hangs by the fuse box to tap into a fuse for 12v keyed power.
