Didn't update this three weeks ago when it happened, but I am now. Started having some very intermittent running issues when accelerating from a stop where it would buck and misfire. Did it three times and it cut off once, the last time it through a MAP CEL and I went to test the MAP to try to see if it was just a fluke or if it was actually out of range. But the nipple of the MAP sensor broke off in the planum and when trying to pick it out it fell in the intake valley so I had to take the plenum off to get that nipple out. Got everything back together with a new MAP sensor... It's still bucking and missing and I've actually been able to repeat the symptoms multiple times if I accelerate hard below 30 mph. When it bucks it seems to shut power down to everything and even the headlights at night go off. It only happens in drive while moving, won't do it in park/neutral, and seems to not do it in reverse either... Only in drive while moving or right off a stop acceleration.

Seems to be a short somewhere or missing ground just haven't had the time to look into it with school and dealing with senior project.

But anyway, here some pictures of me taking the plenum off.

Getting everything disconnected.

Got another bolt to replace the bolt in the plenum that's been missing since before I got the truck from whatever shop worked on it before. Can't believe they let a missing bolt go, it's not that hard to get a replacement bolt. At least it didn't leak.

While I was in there I went ahead and cut the throttle plate restrictor down.

And this was the test drive around the "block", just around the corner from my street while leaving the stop sign, it decided it wouldn't drive at all. It cut off three times in the intersection but I was able to get it faced the right way and somewhat to the side of the road. Then it decided it wouldn't even start at all until it sat for about 5 minutes then it cranked but it was still having the bucking problem under hard acceleration.

Here's a video I took of the problems while on the test drive and the ending of the video was when it cut off and wouldn't crank.

Yeah, here's an update. Haven't figured out the running issue yet but I did find this out. This needs to be fixed before I can even try to fix the running issue since it needs to me mobile to find it.

Here's a couple pictures and the video I got on the problem.

Well, not an update per se, but it also is. The semester has pretty much ended so I should get the chance to re-weld and gusset the upper mount back in place. Then by summer, depending on funds left after my senior project, I should be able to get started on a SAS.

In other news, I think I mentioned this in the beginning of the thread, I finally fixed all the pictures in my Jeep build thread and anyone who is interested in that build can go check that out. I'm pretty sure I said I'd provide the link when I fixed all the pictures. I've done some things to it while the Yukon has been down.

Here's how the Yukon has been spending its time over the last couple months.

Late update, but I finally got the Yukon back together and running again. Been driving it pretty much all January and I'm loving it. Plus my Jeep is down now dealing with death wobble. Got the stuff to fit it but now that the semester has started again I haven't had time to fix it.

Anyway, back to the Yukon. Welded the frame back together on the 2nd.
First off, it has been sitting since September and the battery died due to the shorting issue (more on that later) so I got my buddy to jump me off and we got it in the garage. We left the charger on 2A on it while we worked and went into town to pick stuff up and I've been using the battery no problem surprisingly, I was sure it was going to be dead.
Taking things off and jacking up the front.

Once again, the broken mount and also the messed up bushings that caused the broken mount.

Hammered the mount back down as much as possible. It was actually starting to bend the upper part of the frame down.

Some pictures my buddy took of me welding the mount back and also the steel support plate.

And here I found the shorting issue. This is the main starter wire from the battery and it was being smooshed between the mount and the exhaust manifold and shorting out causing the running issues.

Then I took measurements of the old bushings and control arms to order new bushings.
Back together minus new bushings, those came the next week.

Then got some snow on the 6th... too bad I didn't have the bushings yet so I didn't get to go out in it.

Then I got the bushings in, Energy Suspension 3.2125R. They were the closest bushings I found, had to cut them down.

Walkaround video I did.
xc_hide_links_from_guests_guests_error_hide_media

This part can technically be void since I went back to HIDs, but I installed some AuxBeam F16 LED headlights. But LEDs and Projectors don't go good together, it's NOT AuxBeam's falt. It has to do with the nature of projectors and needing 360° of lights and LEDs (any LED headlight) only have two lights to the side that create hot spots in the projector so the light output is not very good.

I'll start off by saying that the shorting issue killed my driver side HID so I wanted to go LED since everything else I have is. So since I have so many AuxBeam products for my Jeep I knew I wanted to go with them.

Making the female 9006 to H1 adapter. Used a H7 connector which fit the H1 plug the AuxBeam light had.

And that was it, didn't get any of them installed.

Then I installed the new billet grille without the lights so I could move the 2015 GMC emblem in the center of the grille. Like it so much better there.

Like I said, I went back to HIDs since LEDs in a projector housing are dangerous. I had trouble seeing at night, especially in the rain. so I went back to Xentec since I had such good luck with them. I just got 5000k this time not 8000k. Still 55 Watt.

And now I am all caught up... Now I just have to update my Jeep build thread............

Anyway, I don't know what I'll do next.

'Til next time!

Alright, not really an update per se, but it's something. I also have an alignment appointment Friday. Hopefully everything goes well and I can finally get this thing aligned.

Here's a picture of the new grille installed since I didn't get one last time.

Just a random picture.

I also washed it yesterday, a much needed wash.

And here's a couple videos I took since last time.

I'll probably post something over the weekend on how the alignment went.

Alright this is a decent sized update, since I've been lasy on updating over the last month.

First off, went to get an alignment... didn't happen. Upper control arms were touching the frame so camber couldn't be adjusted. Here's a video on it.
xc_hide_links_from_guests_guests_error_hide_media

Then I got some rolling shots with a buddy.

And we also took videos.

Then a couple days later.... Driver side front frame started cracking.

The bushings have held together though.

Now onto what I've been doing the last month. Senior Project for College Graduation, designing and building a front winch bumper for the truck.

Here's pictures of the CAD file. The holes in the front are for some flush mount pods.
